Special Functional Coatings

Dachin HI 300
Water-based nano thermal insulation coating

Product Characteristics

Dachin HI 300 is a water-based single-component high-temperature resistant silicate thermal insulation ceramic coating that can be directly applied to steel substrates to provide thermal insulation and corrosion protection. For outdoor and highly corrosive environments, it is recommended to apply a heat-resistant corrosion-resistant primer to the metal substrate surface beforehand.

This coating is suitable for external surface protection of pipelines, containers, and tanks used for conveying and storing hot media. It is not recommended for direct contact with internal surfaces exposed to media. After drying, decorative acrylic or polyurethane topcoats can be applied over the cured coating.

Key Features

  • Excellent corrosion resistance, salt spray resistance, water resistance, and oil resistance.
  • Superior high/low temperature resistance and weatherability.
  • Excellent electrical insulation properties.
  • Good thixotropy and sag resistance.
  • Applicable to brush, roller, spray, and other application methods with low viscosity for easy operation.
  • Ambient temperature curing, easy repair, non-toxic and environmentally friendly.

Application Guide

Storage: Store in cool, dry places and prevent freezing. Before use, thoroughly stir with a power tool to achieve homogeneous consistency. Over-stirring may negatively impact performance. Once opened, the material should be used completely and not stored afterward.

Application: Use airless spray with pump compression ratio ≥33:1, nozzle size 0.023-0.027 in., pressure ≥3000 psi. Apply a single coat to achieve 500μm dry film thickness. After surface touch-dry, apply a second coat until desired thickness is reached. Alternatively, use troweling with single coat thickness ≤2mm, followed by subsequent coats after touch-dry.

Surface Preparation

Remove all contaminants. Sandblast to minimum Sa2 or power tool clean to St3. For small parts, thoroughly degrease and sand.

Application Conditions

  • Surface must be clean with temperature above dew point to prevent condensation.
  • Use above 10°C to ensure water evaporation and drying.
  • Storage and application temperatures should be above 10°C. Maintain good ventilation when humidity exceeds 85% to promote drying.
  • Avoid applying over heated surfaces exceeding 80°C to prevent blistering.
  • Do not apply excessive thickness in a single coat to prevent skinning.

Film Thickness

Adjust thickness based on application requirements, but this affects coverage, thinner usage, drying time, and recoat intervals. Standard single coat thickness is 500μm dry film.

Compatible Coatings & Recoat

For outdoor steel substrates in corrosive environments, apply a heat-resistant corrosion-resistant primer first. This coating can be applied over high-temperature primers. It can also be directly applied to non-ferrous substrates. After full cure, acrylic or polyurethane topcoats can be applied.

Cleaning Solvents

Use clean freshwater for cleaning. Dispose of wastewater and waste according to local environmental regulations.
