Special Functional Coatings

Dachin EP 750
Epoxy glass flake coating

Composition

The coating is formulated from modified epoxy resin, thin graphene layers, glass flakes, fillers, and additives through grinding and dispersion; the second component is a curing agent.

Key Characteristics

The coating film is hard, wear-resistant, and highly adherent, with excellent water resistance, salt spray resistance, and anti-corrosion properties. Glass flake technology enhances impact resistance and wear resistance, ensuring strong adhesion on various surface conditions. Suitable for wet-blast treated substrates, applicable for marine and onshore equipment.

Applications

Designed for heavy-duty corrosion protection in harsh environments, suitable for protecting offshore steel pipe piles, jacket structures, and other marine equipment in splash zones, tidal areas, and submerged regions.

Application Guide

  • Dachin EP 750 Epoxy Glass Flake Coating can be applied via conventional air spray, airless spray, or brush.
  • Curing requires temperatures above 5°C. Maximum application temperature: 40°C. Surface temperature must remain at least 3°C above dew point, with relative humidity ≤85%.
  • Ensure ventilation in enclosed spaces during application.
  • Mix components A and B strictly by ratio before use. Mix only required quantities, stir thoroughly, and use within pot life.
  • Substrate must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Ensure ventilation in enclosed spaces.
  • Mix components A and B strictly by ratio before use. Mix only required quantities, stir thoroughly, and use within 4 hours after preparation.
  • Keep all tools clean and dry before and after application.

Compatible Coatings

Subsequent coats: Dachin EP 550 Epoxy Zinc Silicate Intermediate, Dachin PU 770 Polyurethane Coating.

Coating Layers

Recommended application: 1 coat via airless spray, 2-3 coats via conventional spray, or 2 coats via brush/roller, achieving dry film thickness of 60-80μm.

Surface Preparation

  • Prior to application, the substrate must be clean, dry, smooth, free of oil, rust, and debris.
  • Steel surfaces should be blast cleaned to Sa2.5 standard or power tool cleaned to St3 standard.
  • Light dust can be removed with compressed air or a clean brush.
  • Old coatings should be scraped, filled, sanded smooth, or treated as required.
  • Oils can be removed with gasoline or thinner, followed by clean cloth wiping.

Mixing

This product is supplied in two components (Component A base and Component B hardener). Thoroughly stir both components with power tools before mixing strictly by ratio. Mix again and ensure homogeneity.
