Anti-Corrosion Primer

Dachin Graphene 013
Epoxy graphene zinc powder coating

Main Components

Dachin Graphene 013 Epoxy Graphene Zinc-rich Paint is a two-component, low VOC, high solid, self-drying, mastic type epoxy coating. It consists of modified epoxy resin, zinc powder, pure graphene, additives, and thinners.

Key Features

As a universal long-lasting primer for severe corrosive environments, Dachin Graphene 013 Epoxy Graphene Zinc-rich Paint offers the following characteristics:

  1. Superior anti-corrosion performance. The graphene-enhanced coating improves electrical conductivity between zinc particles, maximizing zinc utilization in the dry film. Its lamellar structure creates a labyrinth effect, effectively blocking corrosive media penetration.
  2. Excellent flexibility and impact resistance. The coating remains crack-free under ultra-thick film conditions even during high-low temperature cycling.
  3. Tolerant to low-surface-profile substrates with exceptional adhesion strength.

Primary Applications

Widely used for steel structure protection in bridges, marine engineering, petrochemical, and paper industries. Complies with JT/T 722-2023 Technical Specifications for Anti-corrosion Coatings of Highway Bridge Steel Structures and HG/T 5573-2019 Graphene Zinc-rich Coatings.

Application Conditions

Dachin Graphene 013 can be applied via conventional spray, airless spray, or brush/roller methods.

Curing requires temperatures above 5℃. Maximum application temperature: 40℃. Paint temperature should exceed 15℃. Surface temperature must be maintained at least 3℃ above the dew point with maximum relative humidity ≤85%. Ensure surface cleanliness/dryness and adequate ventilation in confined spaces.

Mixing: Use mechanical agitation to fully redisperse settled zinc particles before adding curing agent. Maintain continuous stirring during application. Note: Zinc sedimentation accelerates under high dilution or prolonged停工 periods—intermittent agitation is critical.

Application: Multiple passes may be required when brush/rolling to achieve target film thickness. Recoat window can be extended.

Film Build: Adjustable between 50-100μm DFT depending on service requirements. This affects coverage, drying time, and recoat intervals.

Recoating: Maximum intervals depend on exposure conditions. Beyond maximum intervals, profile the surface for intercoat adhesion. Remove zinc corrosion products (white rust) via high-pressure water cleaning and hard brushing before recoating. Consult Dachin Advanced Materials for site-specific guidance.

Coating System

Topcoat: Dachin EP 550 Epoxy Mica Iron Intermediate Coat

Recommended DFT

23±3μm (as shop primer), 60±20μm (as anti-corrosion primer)

Surface Preparation

Steel substrates must be blast-cleaned to Sa2.5 (ISO 8501-1:1988) or SSPC SP10. Surface profile: Rz 40-75μm.

Inadequate profile reduces adhesion and increases cracking risk. Excessive profile may cause incomplete coverage and pitting at peaks.

Alternative: Hand-tool cleaning to St3 if blasting unavailable. Remove all contaminants (dust, oil, etc.) prior to coating.
