Dachin Silane 110
Silane Impregnation
Main Components
The silane impregnation liquid is a colorless and transparent liquid product composed of high-purity isobutyl triethoxysilane (also known as isobutyl triethoxy silane).
Key Characteristics
-
Excellent chemical resistance (Cl- protection), weather resistance (UV resistance), abrasion resistance, and anti-fouling properties with self-cleaning functionality. Maintains concrete breathability while effectively preventing substrate corrosion caused by water infiltration, solar exposure, acid rain, and seawater erosion, thereby extending the service life of concrete and internal reinforcement structures.
-
Exceptional penetration depth. After application, the product penetrates into the substrate, reaching depths of 2-10mm.
-
Achieves superior protection with minimal coating consumption.
-
Preserves the natural appearance of concrete, acting as an invisible "waterproof and breathable armor" for the protected substrate.
-
Significantly reduces capillary water absorption in concrete.
-
Alkaline environments (e.g., freshly cast concrete) accelerate reaction kinetics and promote rapid hydrophobic layer formation.
Primary Applications
Widely used in reinforced concrete structures such as seaport terminals, cross-sea bridges, elevated viaducts, highway bridges, coastal railway bridges, tunnels, airport runways, thermal power plants, and nuclear power plants. Particularly suitable for protecting concrete structures exposed to seawater corrosion, salt spray corrosion, de-icing agent corrosion, and freeze-thaw damage. Complies with industry standard JTS 153-2015 "Standard for Durability Design of Water Transport Engineering Structures".

Application Conditions
-
Prior to large-scale silane impregnation, conduct a spray test on a 1-5 m² trial area. Perform core sampling and testing according to specified methods. Proceed with full-scale application only if test results meet acceptance criteria.
-
Use airless spraying equipment for large areas to optimize efficiency and minimize material waste. Brushes or scrapers may be used for small areas. Cease work immediately during unexpected rainfall and cover treated surfaces to prevent silane active components from washing away before curing.
-
Apply via sealed spray guns, rollers, or brushes. For brush/roller application, re-coat until surface saturation is achieved. For spray guns, use a recirculating pump system with nozzle pressure of 60-70 kPa, ensuring no water ingress into the system.
-
In tidal fluctuation zones, apply during low tide when concrete surfaces are visibly dry. Allow 3-6 hours of drying time for silane absorption. Avoid application if rain, strong winds (> Level 5), or direct sunlight is anticipated within 10 hours post surface drying.
-
Apply continuously in one or two passes at ~300g/m2. On vertical surfaces, spray upward and maintain a "wet" appearance for ≥5 seconds. On horizontal surfaces, maintain a "wet mirror" state for ≥5 seconds. Allow ≥6 hours between passes.
-
Silane absorption continues for hours, with rate dependent on ambient humidity, concrete mix design, moisture content, surface exposure, sunlight, and wind speed. Temporary darkening of concrete surfaces may occur and resolve within days.
-
Curing: Ensure no rainfall within 24 hours post-application. Natural drying periods: ≥36 hours in summer, ≥72 hours in winter.
Surface Preparation
-
Repair honeycombs, exposed aggregates, and defects with cement paste. Remove loose particles using steel scrapers.
-
Repair cracks >0.2mm wide per industry standard "Code for Construction of Marine Concrete Structures".
-
Remove dust, oil, and contaminants detrimental to silane impregnation.
-
For formwork release agents or curing compounds, conduct spray tests to evaluate compatibility with silane. Remove if uncertain.
-
Apply silane on surface-dry concrete. If water rinsing is required, allow 72 hours of natural drying prior to application.

Application Guidelines
-
Concrete must cure ≥28 days before silane application (≥14 days post-repair).
-
Maintain concrete surface temperature between 5-45°C.
-
Prepare all silane materials on-site prior to container opening. Use within 72 hours post-opening or discard.
-
Prohibit open flames near the worksite. Operators must wear appropriate PPE.
-
Application must be performed by experienced personnel under manufacturer specifications.
-
Avoid contact with chloroprene rubber, bituminous sealants, or other corrosive materials.
-
For marine-exposed cast-in-place elements, apply silane immediately after formwork removal. Apply curing membranes after natural surface drying.
