Dachin Silane 116
Silane Impregnation
Main Components
Silane impregnation liquid is a colorless, transparent liquid product composed of high-purity n-octyl triethoxysilane.
Key Characteristics
-
Excellent chemical resistance (resistance to Cl-), weather resistance (UV resistance), abrasion resistance, anti-fouling properties, and self-cleaning effects, while maintaining concrete breathability. Effectively prevents substrate corrosion caused by water infiltration, sunlight, acid rain, and seawater erosion, protecting internal steel reinforcement and extending the service life of structures.
-
Outstanding penetration depth. After application, the product penetrates into the substrate, reaching depths of 2-10mm.
-
Achieves superior protection with minimal coating usage.
-
Preserves the natural appearance of concrete, acting as an invisible "protective layer" that is waterproof yet breathable.
-
Significantly reduces capillary water absorption of concrete.
-
Alkaline environments (e.g., newly poured concrete) accelerate reaction and enhance hydrophobic layer formation.
Primary Applications
Widely used in reinforced concrete structures such as harbors, cross-sea bridges, elevated highways, railway bridges, tunnels, airport runways, thermal/nuclear power plants, and other structures requiring protection against seawater corrosion, salt spray, de-icing agents, and freeze-thaw damage.

Application Conditions
-
Before large-scale application, conduct a spray test on a 1-5 m² area. Verify compliance with standards via core sampling and testing. Proceed only if results meet requirements.
-
Use airless spraying equipment for large areas to optimize efficiency and minimize material waste. For small areas, brushes or rollers may be used. Stop work immediately if rain occurs, and cover treated surfaces to prevent wash-off of active components before curing.
-
Apply via sealed spray gun, roller, or brush. For brushes/rollers, reapply until surface is fully wetted. Use a recirculating spray system with nozzle pressure of 60-70 kPa; ensure no water enters the system.
-
In water-level fluctuation zones, apply during low tide when concrete surfaces are dry. Allow 3-6 hours of drying time for absorption. Avoid application if rain, strong winds (>5级), or direct sunlight is expected within 10 hours of surface drying.
-
Apply continuously in one or two passes at ~300g/m2. On vertical surfaces, spray upward and maintain a "wet" appearance for ≥5s. On horizontal surfaces, maintain a "wet mirror" state for ≥5s. Allow ≥6h between passes.
-
Absorption rate depends on humidity, concrete mix, moisture content, exposure, sunlight, and wind. Temporary darkening of surfaces may occur, resolving within days.
-
Curing: Ensure no rain for 24h post-application. Allow natural drying: ≥36h in summer, ≥72h in winter.
Surface Preparation
-
Repair honeycombs, exposed aggregates, and defects with cement paste. Remove loose particles with steel scrapers.
-
Repair cracks >0.2mm wide per industry standard "Code for Construction of Marine Concrete Structures".
-
Remove dust, oil, and contaminants detrimental to silane impregnation.
-
If form release agents or curing compounds are used, test their compatibility with silane. Remove if uncertain.
-
Apply silane on surface-dry concrete. If water rinsing is required, allow 72h natural drying afterward.

Application Notes
-
Apply silane only after concrete has cured ≥28 days (≥14 days for repaired surfaces).
-
Concrete surface temperature: 5-45°C.
-
Prepare all silane materials on-site before opening containers. Use within 72h after opening.
-
Prohibit open flames nearby. Operators must wear appropriate safety gear.
-
Application should be performed by experienced personnel following manufacturer guidelines.
-
Avoid contact with chloroprene rubber, bituminous sealants, and other corrosive materials.
-
For early marine exposure, apply silane immediately after formwork removal. Allow natural drying before applying curing membranes.
